Page County Inmate Records and Jail Custody Lookup

Page County inmate records are not reached through a county-hosted jail roster at this time. A Page County jail roster search depends on official fallback channels: the sheriff's office, custody notification tools, court dockets after filing, and separate state or federal locators when the person is no longer in local jail custody. The practical starting point is current custody status, then the record type needed, then the system that actually holds that record.

Page County Jail Roster Overview

No official Page County online jail roster, current-inmate search, booking report, or mugshot gallery was located on the county government site. The official Page County Sheriff's Office page lists Sheriff Charles McCalla, the sheriff/jail address, phone and fax, office hours, and quick links to Iowa VINE and Iowa Courts Online. That means a Page County inmate search should begin with the sheriff's office rather than an online roster form.

The Page County Jail is the local custody facility for people committed to the county sheriff until discharged by law. It is different from Clarinda Correctional Facility, which is an Iowa Department of Corrections prison in Clarinda for sentenced or DOC-supervised offenders. It is also different from federal custody and immigration detention. Use the county jail for recent Page County arrests, the court portal for filed criminal cases, the DOC locator for sentenced state custody, and BOP or ICE tools for federal or immigration custody.

How to Find Someone in the Page County Jail

Because Page County has no official roster page to open, the search works as a fallback chain. Each step answers a different question: current local custody, notification, court filing, state prison status, or federal/immigration status. Use enough identifying detail to separate people with similar names.

  1. Call the Page County Sheriff's Office / Jail at (712) 542-5193 for current local custody questions. Have the person's full name, date of birth if known, approximate arrest date, arresting agency, and any case or warrant number.
  2. Go in person or make a written Iowa Chapter 22 request to the sheriff at 323 N 15th, Clarinda, IA 51632. Published office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  3. Search Iowa VINE for custody status and notification registration. VINE is useful for status alerts, but it is not a complete Page County booking record.
  4. Search Iowa Courts Online after a case is filed. Court records can show formal charges, docket entries, hearing dates, and case status, but they do not prove the person is still in jail.
  5. Search the Iowa DOC Offender Search if the person has been sentenced, transferred, or placed under DOC supervision. The DOC locator includes Clarinda Correctional Facility.
  6. Use the BOP Inmate Locator or the ICE Online Detainee Locator System if the matter appears federal or immigration-related.

Iowa VINE also has a phone route at 1-888-742-8463, listed as 1-888-7-IAVINE in the research materials. VINE notification registration may ask for a phone, email, text, TTY option, and PIN for phone alerts. If a person transfers from county jail to DOC custody, VINE materials caution that the person may receive a new identifier, so notification registration may need to be repeated.

Page County Roster and Locator Search Fields

The county roster table is a negative finding. Page County did not provide a public web form with searchable booking fields. The available official search fields come from VINE, Iowa DOC, Iowa Courts Online, BOP, and ICE depending on the custody system involved.

A Chapter 22 request to the sheriff should be narrow enough for staff to identify the record. Ask for the booking record, booking photograph if needed, custody status, or release record, and include the person's name, date of birth if known, arrest or booking date, arresting agency, and case number. The custodian may require clarification, redact exempt material, or charge reasonable expenses for copies and staff time.

What a Page County Inmate Profile Shows

Page County does not publish an online inmate profile sample. A booking record requested from the sheriff may include common booking details if they are releasable under Iowa law and local policy, but the county site does not promise any specific field. Court records and DOC records should be treated as related records, not substitutes for the sheriff's booking file.

Finding County, State, and Federal Inmates

A Page County arrest may start in the county jail, move to court, and later become a DOC record if the person is sentenced to state custody. Federal and immigration matters use separate systems. Do not assume a missing county roster entry means the person was never arrested; it may mean Page County does not publish the roster, the court case has not appeared yet, or the person is in a different custody system.

No official sheriff mobile app or app-only Page County roster was documented in the research. The mobile tools supported by the research are VINELink for notification and custody-status access, and Ameelio for Iowa DOC prison visit scheduling. Those tools do not replace the sheriff as the county jail record custodian.

Page County Jail Facilities

Two facilities matter for Page County inmate records. The county jail handles local sheriff custody. Clarinda Correctional Facility is a state prison inside the county and uses Iowa DOC systems. A person held in one system may not appear in the other.

Clarinda, IA 51632

(712) 542-5193

Office hours published by the sheriff: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Current jail capacity is listed in project materials as 35 inmates.

Booking Process in Page County

Page County does not publish a local booking-process handbook. The known local fact is that the sheriff is the custodian of the county jail and is responsible for prisoners committed to the sheriff until discharged by law. After arrest, a person may be transported to the Page County Jail or another authorized facility, identified, searched, booked, photographed, fingerprinted, screened for medical or mental-health issues, and classified for housing and safety.

First appearance and bond depend on Iowa law and court action. Iowa Code sections 804.21 and 804.22 require people arrested on warrants or without warrants to be brought before an authorized magistrate without unnecessary delay. Iowa Courts Online help says public trial cases after 1998 are available online and that new cases may take one business day to appear after entry. Booking language, arrest charges, and formal court charges can differ because prosecutors may amend, add, reduce, or dismiss charges.

Visitation, Mail, and Service Gaps

The Page County sheriff page did not publish a jail visitation schedule, video visitation vendor, mail format, commissary rules, deposit vendor, phone vendor, attorney-visit policy, holiday schedule, dress code, or jail handbook. Confirm every jail visit, mailing, phone, and money step with the jail before acting. Clarinda Correctional Facility has separate DOC rules and should not be used as the county jail rule source.

How to Contact a Page County Inmate

For the county jail, call the Page County Sheriff's Office before mailing anything or trying to arrange a call. The research located a vendor result that identified Reliance Telephone for Page County Jail and a voicemail number, but the county did not confirm that information on an official page. Treat vendor information as unconfirmed unless the sheriff's office verifies it.

For Clarinda Correctional Facility, use Iowa DOC instructions instead. Non-legal mail goes to Pigeonly central processing at PO Box 96777, Las Vegas, NV 89193 with the incarcerated person's name, offender ID, facility name, and facility ID; Clarinda's code is CCF - 1107. CorrLinks O-mail costs $0.25 per message, and photos use the approved Pelipost process. DOC phone calls are outgoing only, and the person must add the outside number to an approved calling list.

Commissary and Inmate Funds

Page County did not publish county jail commissary or deposit instructions. Confirm custody, facility, accepted payment method, fees, and timing with the jail before sending funds. For DOC prisoners at Clarinda Correctional Facility, money orders or cashier's checks route to the IDOC Offender Fiduciary Account, 1550 L Street, Suite B, Fort Dodge, IA 50501, and electronic options include Access Corrections, JPay, Western Union, and other DOC-listed methods.

Note: Verify custody and facility assignment before scheduling a visit, mailing items, or sending money because Page County jail and Iowa DOC rules are separate.
