Clarinda Correctional Facility Overview
Clarinda Correctional Facility, often shortened to CCF, is operated by the Iowa Department of Corrections. It is a medium-security state prison in Page County, not the Page County Jail. The DOC facility page lists Aaron Sharr as warden, gives an opened date of 1980, and lists the facility's capacity as approximately 1,000. The prison holds Iowa DOC offenders after sentencing, classification, transfer, or DOC assignment.
This distinction controls every lookup step. New Page County arrests, pretrial jail custody, and short county jail stays route through the Page County Sheriff's Office. Clarinda Correctional Facility records route through the Iowa DOC Offender Search and DOC family-services rules. Once an offender is in DOC custody, prison mail, visiting, deposits, phone lists, and programs follow statewide DOC policy with facility-specific visiting schedules.
The official DOC facility page confirms Clarinda Correctional Facility's address, security level, warden, visiting schedule, and programs.
The DOC facility page is the primary public source for CCF visiting, program, and prison-contact details.
Clarinda Correctional Facility Count
The DOC facility page lists Clarinda Correctional Facility with an approximate capacity of 1,000. The Iowa DOC Daily Statistics page dated June 12, 2026 listed CCF with 1,014 current count, 750 operational capacity, and 46 medical or segregation beds. Those figures are not county jail population numbers. They describe a state prison population physically located in Page County.
Daily statistics can change as transfers, releases, intake movement, segregation status, and facility assignments change. The DOC offender locator is also separate from the daily count page. Use daily statistics for a facility-level snapshot and the offender search for a named person's DOC record.
The Iowa DOC Daily Statistics page is the source for the June 12, 2026 CCF count and operational capacity figures.
The daily count supports facility population context, while individual custody details still require the DOC offender locator.
Clarinda Correctional Facility Lookup
Use the Iowa DOC Offender Search to find a person at Clarinda Correctional Facility. The DOC search covers sentenced offenders, parole, probation, work release, community-based corrections, and prison assignments. It does not tell whether someone arrested today is in Page County Jail, and it should not be treated as a local jail booking roster.
- Open the Iowa DOC Offender Search.
- Search by first name, middle name, last name, or offender number when known.
- Use location, offense, sex, county of commitment, and name-search mode to narrow duplicate results.
- Open the matching offender record and confirm the facility location says Clarinda Correctional Facility or another DOC location.
- If no DOC record appears after a new arrest, check Page County Jail custody channels or Iowa Courts Online instead.
| Search Field | Type | Use |
|---|---|---|
| First, Middle, Last Name | Text | Search by name and narrow common matches. |
| Offender Number | Text | Best option when the DOC number is known. |
| Location | Dropdown | Includes Clarinda Correctional Facility and other DOC locations. |
| Offense | Text | Useful when a name search returns several people. |
| County of Commitment | Dropdown | Can be set to Page or another Iowa county. |
Clarinda Correctional Facility Contact
The official prison contact is the DOC facility, not the Page County Sheriff's Office. Call the facility for prison-specific visiting questions, counselor routing, and facility contact issues. For public DOC records or statewide offender search issues, use the DOC systems and pages linked by the department.

Clarinda Correctional Facility Visits
Clarinda Correctional Facility visits require DOC approval and scheduling. The DOC visiting page says adult visitors must submit their own printed, signed application, and minors must be listed on an application completed by a parent or legal guardian. Electronic visitor applications are not accepted. After approval, CCF uses Ameelio reservations for in-person and video visits.
The CCF facility page lists weekend in-person visiting in four blocks and video visiting on Sunday, Monday, Friday, and Saturday. In-person visits are limited to three visitors per visit. If someone cannot use Ameelio, the facility page says to call (712) 695-7140 and speak to the incarcerated individual's counselor. Visitors are subject to search and must follow DOC entrance and clothing rules.
| Visit Type | Days | Hours / Rule |
|---|---|---|
| In-person | Saturday and Sunday | 8:15-10:15 a.m.; 10:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.; 1:15-3:15 p.m.; 3:45-5:45 p.m. |
| Video | Sunday | 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.; 50-minute blocks. |
| Video | Monday | 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; 50-minute blocks. |

| Video | Saturday | 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.; 50-minute blocks. |
| Reservations | All visits | Ameelio only, unless counselor scheduling fallback is needed. |
The Iowa DOC visiting page explains applications, Ameelio scheduling, and centralized visiting requirements.
That statewide visiting page should be checked with the CCF facility schedule before a visit is planned.
Clarinda Correctional Facility Mail
Non-legal mail for Iowa DOC offenders goes to Pigeonly central processing, not directly to Clarinda Correctional Facility. The mail must include the incarcerated individual's name, offender ID number, facility name, and facility ID number. The Clarinda facility code is CCF - 1107. Non-legal mail sent directly to the DOC facility is returned to sender under the DOC mail rules documented in the research.
| Mail Item | Rule |
|---|---|
| Non-legal mail address | Incarcerated Individual Name - Offender ID Number; Facility Name - Facility ID Number; PO Box 96777; Las Vegas, NV 89193. |
| Clarinda code | Clarinda Correctional Facility (CCF) - 1107. |
| Direct non-legal mail to CCF | Returned to sender. |
| O-mail | CorrLinks, $0.25 per message, 13,000 characters or 100 lines maximum. |
| Photos | Pelipost is the approved photo-print provider. |
The Iowa DOC mail page documents the Pigeonly process and the CCF-1107 facility code.
The mail page is especially important because using the prison street address for non-legal mail can result in a return.
Clarinda Correctional Facility Deposits
Iowa DOC offender banking is centralized. Money orders and cashier's checks are mailed to the IDOC Offender Fiduciary Account in Fort Dodge, not to the prison's Clarinda address. Electronic deposit options include Access Corrections, JPay, Western Union, CashPayToday, and ACE Cash Express, with the fee details documented by the DOC money page.
| Method | Fee / Rule |
|---|---|
| Money order or cashier's check | Mail to IDOC Offender Fiduciary Account, 1550 L Street, Suite B, Fort Dodge, IA 50501; include offender and sender details. |
| Access Corrections online | Rates starting at $3.49; Visa or Mastercard debit/credit. |
| Access Corrections phone | 1-866-345-1884; rates as low as $4.49. |

| JPay | Online $3.95-$10.95; phone $4.95-$11.95; MoneyGram walk-in $8.95; up to $5,000 per transaction. |
| Western Union | Phone, website, and Send2Corrections app options are documented by DOC. |
The Iowa DOC money page is the source for the listed deposit methods, fiduciary address, and fee ranges.
Deposit rules can affect where funds are mailed, so confirm the offender number before sending money.
Clarinda Correctional Facility Phone
Iowa DOC phone rules do not allow incoming calls to incarcerated individuals. The offender must add an outside number to the approved calling list. Calls to the lower 48 states cost $0.07 under the phone rates effective May 1, 2026, while Alaska, Hawaii, and international rates vary. Offenders may add money from their commissary account, and family or friends may mail a money order with the telephone service form.
Phone access is not the same as video visiting. Ameelio is used for CCF visit scheduling, while phone funds and call lists follow the DOC telephone-service process. If a family member has an urgent message, call the facility and ask about proper staff routing rather than expecting a direct incoming call.
Note: No incoming prison calls are allowed, and approved calling-list rules control who can receive offender calls.
Clarinda Correctional Facility Admission
Clarinda Correctional Facility admission is a prison assignment process, not street-arrest booking. After conviction and sentencing to DOC custody, male offenders are processed through the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Coralville, while female offenders are processed through the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women in Mitchellville. DOC intake includes screening, needs assessment, custody-level review, and permanent facility assignment.
The DOC admission material says male IMCC stays are usually short, often 60 days or fewer, before transfer. Facility assignment normally appears online within 24 hours after a move is completed. That timing helps explain why a Page County arrest may not appear in the Iowa DOC Offender Search right away. The person may still be in county custody, awaiting court action, or in transfer processing.
| System | Who It Covers | Where to Search |
|---|---|---|
| Page County Jail | Local pretrial and short-term county custody | Sheriff phone, VINE, records request, courts after filing |
| Clarinda Correctional Facility | DOC sentenced offenders and assigned prison population | Iowa DOC Offender Search |
| Federal or immigration custody | BOP, USMS, or ICE systems | BOP locator, ICE locator, or USMS district contacts |
Clarinda Correctional Facility Programs
The CCF facility page lists several prison programs and education options. Programs include Achieving Change Through Value-Based Behavior, known as ACTV, apprenticeship opportunities, Iowa Prison Industries industrial manufacturing, and welding or metal fabricating apprenticeship work. Iowa Western Community College offerings listed in the research include digital literacy, HiSET, life skills, literacy, Microsoft Office, and special education classes.
Additional apprenticeship and work opportunities include bee program, dietary, maintenance, grounds, warehouse, facility sanitation, dog program, and landscaping. Program availability can change based on custody level, eligibility, staffing, class size, discipline status, and DOC placement decisions. Families should use the facility and counselor channels for current program access questions rather than assuming every listed program is available to every person at CCF.
Note: Confirm current CCF custody, visiting approval, and schedule details with DOC before making travel plans.
